This is your space!

Help create a memorable summer experience as we try new events to see what works for you!  Share your successes, your pictures, your ideas for new events, your links to favorites sites…but remember, what you’ll read here is solely the opinion of each writer and not endorsed by the Summer of Wellness or the city of Euclid.

Anyone interested in forming a group for walking, dieting, exercise or support can post a comment here or contact info@euclidwellness.org to get it started.  You can also check the signup sheet at Curves or the YMCA for someone with similar interests, or stop in at the community tent at the Euclid LakeFest in June.

The Euclid YMCA and Curves/ Lakeshore Blvd are ready to help you reach your fitness goals, so ask about their summer specials when you weigh in.  The Euclid Library, enthusiastic participant in the team weight loss challenge,  is fully committed to a healthy summer and can recommend books and audio materials for your listening pleasure as you walk.  On the Saturday Morning Walkabout,  Lakeshore Coffee House and Arabica will provide water and invite you to come back for a visit.  Check out the classes all over town that are anxious to welcome you!  Read the sponsors list for discounts on recreational opportunities around town as well as at other area businesses, and thank them by stopping in.

We’ll start the summer by suggesting measured walks through parks & around town for those who like the company.  Anyone wearing a t-shirt from Curves or the YMCA as they walk can be easily identified as a Summer of Wellness member, so if you’re looking for walking buddies in your neighborhood you might want to pick one up.  Your registration packet also features a website to help you design your own walk.

But we’re most excited about trying outdoor exercise!  There’s wonderful freedom in stretching outdoors, so we’re inviting  a variety of instructors to lead an informal group movement in Sims Park on Monday evenings to see if there’s enough interest.  If you like it, let’s do more.  When and where would you like it to be?  Don’t be shy!–the more, the merrier. Check it out, and if you’re interested in leading an exercise group we’d especially like to meet you.

Help us add new events to the calendar by telling us about your events open to the public, and by thinking big and coming up with new ideas of your own!

Now…let’s hear from you:
